On May 14, CiDi Games launched its beta app in the Pi ecosystem, introducing an instant-access HTML5 gaming platform available through the Pi Browser.
The beta launched with 10 initial games across casual, puzzle, idle, action, and competitive categories, along with skill-based tournaments, platform progression through CiDiScore, the Pi ELF companion experience, Elf Continent, and developer infrastructure for Pi-integrated games. Together, these features make CiDi Games a platform-level experience that brings gameplay, identity, community participation, and developer opportunity into one Pi-powered environment.
CiDi Games, a Pi Network Ventures portfolio company, gives Pioneers a new way to use Pi through gaming, while also extending the Pi ecosystem with infrastructure that can support more games and developers over time.
Demonstrating Organic Traction on Pi
In less than one week after launch, CiDi Games organically attracted over 81,000 Pioneers across 160+ countries and regions. That activity translated into deeper engagement: over 1.2 million total game sessions and 21,000 competition/tournament participants.
CiDi Games recorded a significant number of ads shown, highlighting how apps on Pi can begin monetization with real users through the Pi Ad Network, as long as creators build utility-based engaging apps.
CiDi Games’ app ranking in Pi Ecosystem Directory Staking was boosted by 3.19 million Pi in total, the vast majority of which was staked by the community, making it one of the top staked Pi apps. Staking is an optional way for Pioneers and businesses to support the apps they create or use and enjoy in the Ecosystem Interface, while giving developers a visible signal of community interest.
These one week results were completely organic, and not driven by promotion by Pi’s official accounts. Pioneers discovered and engaged with CiDi Games entirely on their own. This shows how any app, when built well and tailored to real user needs, has the opportunity to find meaningful engagement through the Pi ecosystem with no additional user acquisition costs.
What CiDi Games’ Beta Launch Shows About the Pi Platform and Building on Pi
The organic traction of CiDi Games’ beta launch illustrates Pi’s solution to a growing challenge for developers in general: building apps is becoming easier, but reaching real users is increasingly difficult.
The Pi platform connects developers or creators with a large, engaged community of Pioneers and supports app experiences that solve human needs.
For developers or creators, the Pi ecosystem is not only a place to publish apps, but also a platform where apps can be discovered, used, supported, and improved by real people. CiDi Games’ beta launch showed how Pi infrastructure can support interactive products while giving developers access to a community of 60M+ Engaged Pioneers, Pi-native participation mechanisms, and monetization tools that can help iterate their products and sustain continued development.
Any developer can benefit from what Pi ecosystem has to offer by building and deploying a Pi app that solves real human needs. Submit an application through the Pi Developer Portal on Pi Browser.
For builders who use external AI tools like Codex, Claude Code, Replit, Cursor, Lovable or other AI-assisted coding tools, you can easily convert your apps into Pi apps through a recently released developer tool on Pi App Studio, where you can use ready-to-go AI prompts to integrate the Pi SDK, verify the setup, and add Pi payments. Pi App Studio also facilitates your app deployment into the Pi ecosystem and prepares it to acquire and engage with users, like CiDi Games did, with ease.
In addition to traction and engagement, Pi apps also already integrate with Pi Network’s other infrastructure components: global payments, Pi Wallet, Pi Ad Network, and social network access.
Continuing App Development and Integrations in the Pi Ecosystem
In collaboration with Pi, CiDi Games will continue to gather feedback, improve user experience, refine platform features, and expand its game library. Real usage gives developers ongoing feedback on what works, what can improve, and where new utility can emerge.
