Today we’re giving a more detailed introduction to the new Pi Social Profiles released on Pi2Day, and we’re demonstrating how you can set up your Pi Social Profile in a video. The Social Profile system is a pivotal feature in developing Pi’s social network. The launch of Pi Social Profiles is not just about giving Pioneers a new utility—it’s about enhancing connectivity and interaction within the Pi ecosystem, aligning seamlessly with our strategic move towards Open Network in 2024

Pi is not only a cryptocurrency but also a social network. Having reached a network of millions, we are now at the strategic time to have profiles. Pi Social Profiles is built not only to fit the needs of individual Pioneers to have a profile page to interact with other Pioneers and external social media, but also to be a platform feature that can be integrated into different parts of the ecosystem such as different Pi apps and programs that need profiles.

Watch the video below and read on to learn more.

What are Pi Social Profiles?

Pi Social Profiles allow Pioneers to have an open social identity to interact with others and personalize their presence within the network. This feature enables you to add a profile picture, link up with other Pioneers, and showcase your activities on various Pi apps, such as Fireside Forum—Pi’s Web3 social app—and more Pi apps in the future, directly on your profile. Eventually, your profile can also be linked to your other social media profiles, bridging your Web2 and Web3 individual social presence.

The settings of Pi Social Profiles are designed with privacy in mind, offering you control over the level of sharing you are comfortable with, such as who can see your full name and whether you want followers. These features are crucial as they empower you to manage your digital footprint within the network while fostering a safe community environment.

Integration with Pi’s Ecosystem and Open Network Goals

The integration of Social Profiles is a step forward in making Pi’s ecosystem more robust and interconnected. The development of a fully functional, unified Social Profile system is key to enhancing the utility of Pi Network. This system serves individual Pioneers and supports various Pi apps and programs, providing a foundational component that enhances the overall functionality of our ecosystem.

Such developments thus directly help progress to Open Network in network growth and utility building. By integrating Social Profiles, we’re paving the way for a more interactive and utility-rich platform, supporting our vision to build the world’s most inclusive peer-to-peer ecosystem.

Future Developments and the Role of the Pioneer Community

As we continue to build out Pi’s features and work towards the Open Network, the role of the Pioneer community remains paramount. The introduction of Social Profiles is just the beginning for this feature. We plan to expand these capabilities, such as enabling Pioneers to personalize their experience further and contribute to the network’s growth by utilizing the Social Profiles to engage more actively with the network’s utilities, and providing ways for some Pioneers who wish to rise in influence on their profiles to do so through creating more meaningful and constructive content for the community.

We invite all Pioneers to dive into the new Social Profile feature, explore the potential integrations with Pi apps, and continue to contribute to our journey towards Open Network. Your active participation and feedback are crucial as we enhance these features and strive to meet the ambitious goals set for 2024.

So far over 3.36 million Pioneers have set up their Pi Social Profiles within the short amount of time since its release. To set up your Pi Social Profile if you haven’t already, go to the Pi Browser and tap “Profiles” to get started.

The launch of Pi Social Profiles represents a significant step forward in our mission to create a more connected and interactive ecosystem.
