August’s Art Festival theme aims for Pioneers to create infographics that help educate other Pioneers and new members about Pi, including specific Pi products, roadmaps, how-tos of Mainnet Checklist items or anything you think is useful for people to learn about Pi that would support our collective progress to Open Network.
The theme of August 2024 is: “Infographics about Pi”
Here are some optional suggestions to help get you started:
- Educational Infographics: Create visuals that explain the steps necessary for Pi to transition to an Open Network. Consider including timelines, Pioneer actions, key milestones, and technologies involved.
- Pioneer Engagement: Illustrate how Pioneers can contribute to the network’s growth. Show examples of mining, securing, and using Pi in everyday transactions.
- Pi Commerce Stories: Highlight success stories of Pioneers who have integrated Pi in their businesses, apps, and local communities.
Important: Use factual information from Pi’s official communications to create your infographics.
How to Participate
The art festival will be held within the #PiInfographics channel in Fireside Forum, Pi’s native social media app in the Pi Browser. To participate in the festival, Pioneers can use in-app tokens of Fireside Forum to post their own or react to others’ infographics. Such in-app tokens may be purchased in Pi on the Mainnet by Pioneers who have migrated to the Mainnet. For all other Pioneers who haven’t migrated yet, the in-app tokens can be obtained through the inclusive feature provided by Pi Ads integration in Fireside Forum.
For the festival, use the Pi Browser to visit the #PiInfographics channel on Fireside Forum and, using the in-app tokens, you can:
- Post your images;
- Rate others’ works by adding or removing Fire; and
- Comment on your favorite pieces
Learn more about Fireside Forum and its innovative cost mechanism at this link here.
Pioneers are also encouraged to share their favorite posts to other social media using the Share button on the Fireside Forum post and add the #PiInfographics hashtag to the social media post. With our new PiNet introduction journey for first time visitors, this is also a great way to showcase the amazing Web3 Pi community to the Web2 world.
Top submissions will also be curated by the Core Team to be potentially featured on Pi’s social media and other content.
For example, we received amazing submissions for both the May #Photography and June #PiMusic Festivals. For the #Photography Festival, we’re showcasing a few of our favorites below. For the #PiMusic Festival, check out the tons of submissions in many languages from around the world here.
#Photography
As always, we’ll be looking for great submissions that incorporate the themes well. While we encourage open-minded and thoughtful creations, we ask that submissions be tasteful and free of hateful, vulgar, or otherwise offensive subject matter.
We’re looking forward to your great contributions so start getting creative!
Note: As a reminder of the monthly adjustments, a new base mining rate for August is deployed today and will take effect in your next mining session. This time, there is an increase in the base mining rate due to the removal of rewards for Pioneers sharing node installations. The removal resulted in a lower coefficient in the formula calculating the base mining rate, leaving more of the monthly supply for other types of mining rewards in the form of an increased base mining rate. This effect will likely continue in the coming couple of months, potentially leading to further increases in the base mining rate. It’s a great time for Pioneers to mine!
